July 2009 Dear Emma,
We tried for the first time last month and I'm now pregnant
- thank you so much. We weren't expecting it to work first time,
and didn't even do an early pregnancy test, so when I missed my
period it was a complete shock. we are over the moon with
happiness, and can't believe there is magic happening inside of
me right now! If it wasn't for this website than our dreams could not have come true. It was so simple, and our donor was fantastic. This website is brilliant, it's wonderful and inspiring to know that there are people out there like you and our donor that just want to help.
We will send you a picture of our little one in Feb 2010.

 Kind & generous men around the world who donate sperm without payment to help women and infertile couples become parents through artificial insemination - self-insemination.
Sperm Donors register with DIY Baby/ FSDW and complete profiles for members to view. Members can contact them directly in the member's only area. and they are happy to answer relevant questions online in the initial stages, until ready to meet in person, or talk on the telephone, if it seems like a good match!
They are polite and respectful whether they choose to donate to that woman/ couple or not.
(It is important that this is a two-way match)
Happy to offer their sperm without asking for any type of sexual contact- the donor is not involved in the insemination itself.
Professional throughout the process, from initial contact, face-to-face meetings, through to the collection of sperm. They are knowledgable about the process, and offer help and advice regarding ovulation tracking, pre-pregnancy vitamins and more. If not they learn about this through our support forums- at DIY Baby™ They understand why it is important to have themselves tested for HIV and STDs and if recipients wish to use froze, quarantined sperm, they are willing to donate through a clinic to help specific individuals and couples, after meeting them and coming to a mutual agreement. honest about their expectations- whether this is to be a known donor, or if they want a yearly photo or updates, to co-parent, or to have no involvement at all post conception. It is important that women and donors enter into the process being clear about both parties expectations. They are willing to sign a private sperm donor agreement document, clearly outlining the agreement, and to have this notarized by a lawyer. (free copies, that can be modified to suit your agreement, can be found in the DIY Baby member's only area)
